→ I had a lot of questions regarding insulin in my exam, so make sure you understand the key concept of how insulin works (e.g. long acting, basal/ bolus regimens), and adjusting dose according to the BM readings. E.g. if lunch time BM readings are higher than normal range, it would be the morning dose that would be adjusted by increasing the insulin dosage by 1-2 units.
→ Know what drugs to prescribe in common emergencies e.g. hypoglycaemia (treatment summary can be found on BNF/MC).
→ Understand fluid prescribing. I used to find fluid prescribing tricky but once you learn the basics it is not bad and common exam questions.
